Message from the President

Our nation’s healthcare system is experiencing significant change, both in escalating costs and access to quality care. Nowhere is this more evident than in rural communities. Many rural providers are at risk as the healthcare system transitions, resulting in a pronounced impact on access and affordability. Devising new solutions to today’s challenges is imperative to bend the cost and value curve. However, change doesn’t happen without strong leadership.

For nearly two decades, IHC has served as the trusted resource on sustainable healthcare transformation. As Iowa’s only healthcare collaborative, IHC has been pioneering work on patient safety, quality improvement, value and innovation across the healthcare continuum. As a nonprofit healthcare organization, our commitment is to work with patients, providers, payers, businesses and communities to create exceptional, accessible healthcare for Iowans.

We identify high quality practices across the country who share our common patient-centered values and would like to partner with us to provide better care to their patients. More than 279 hospitals, 8,000 clinicians and 24 communities have joined our network and we expect that number to grow dramatically.

We believe our work, which is deeply rooted in innovation and evidence-based best practices, can and should be broadly applied as healthcare in America faces perhaps the most profound challenges.

Yours in service,

Thomas C. Evans
