The Beacon Newsletter

nullThe Beacon serves as an informative resource for providers by giving early access to newly released materials, educational opportunities and important updates. This newsletter is also a chance for the network to show support and recognize program participants by highlighting their successes and sharing their stories with others in the Compass OPSS Community. This newsletter is distributed the second Wednesday of each month.

Compass Opioid Stewardship Certificate Program participants are invited to sign-up (Link) to receive text updates that distribute information on upcoming education events and new program resources.

FACEBOOK PAGE

News and updates are posted to the Compass Opioid Stewardship Certificate Program's Facebook group page (Link). The focus of this page is to give everyone the opportunity to be open and share their voice. This Facebook group and it's participants follow the Facebook Respectful Communication Policy that helps support thoughtful, inclusive and respectful conversations. 

ICOMPASS FORUM

The iCompass Forum (Link) is a communicative platform created by Iowa Healthcare Collaborative. One of the functions of this platform is to help providers receive access to information, resources and opportunities to connect with other healthcare providers.

Compass Opioid Prescribing and Treatment Guidance Toolkit

This toolkit holds resources to help clinicians limit new opioid prescriptions, optimize nonopioid pain management strategies, implement risk management and harm reduction strategies for patients on chronic opioid therapy, and diagnose and treat patients struggling with opioid use disorder.

IHC COMFORT RESOURCES

IHC has created the IHC Comfort Resources to address the opioid epidemic and change the framing of pain when prescribing opioid medications to focus on comfort and functionality.
